When I Awake my Thoughts are of You Lord!

And At Night I am still with Thee!

Thank you dear God for being so big and wonderful that you can occupy my thoughts in the morning when I wake and in the nighttime when I go to sleep ~ two fabulous times to turn my thoughts to you, Lord. If I focus on You during the most vulnerable times of the day and night I will be able to bring my day under the control of Your love and Your everlasting Peace Dear Lord.

Thank you for being there for me when I wake up and when I lay down to sleep! You are ever-present, always caring, always there for me dear God.

This is my prayer: Keep me always in Your thoughts. Thanks Lord!

Birthday Fun -- We Spend Every Year Together

These are my best girl friends. We have been celebrating our birthdays together for over twenty years! We started on our 30th birthdays!

Every year we meet at our favorite restaurant and celebrate. Two of us are born on the same day in June. The other two in July. We have so much in common. We rehash the past year: it's joys and its sadness and rejoice that we have made it to celebrate together again!

The surprise: All of these girls are my very best friends. Over twenty years ago when we began our yearly celebrations they had never met. Think of all we would have missed of each others' lives without these get togethers! Happy Birthday everyone! :)

God is in Control

I have been experiencing stomach pain for over six months. Sometimes to the point of near despair. Without my faith I would have despaired. What I have requires vascular surgery of the stomach, because of the three main arteries bringing blood to the digestive system is 90% impinged. This lack of blood flow is causing a great deal of pain.

I have faith, an excellent surgeon and am proceeding on the week of April 6th, with the prayers and love of family and friends behind me and the Lord going before me.

I will be in the hospital for 5-7 days and have a 6-8 week recovery. This is no small thing, yet the Lord of the heavens and Lord of my heart has given me perfect peace.

Thanks God ~ you are in Control!

Early Birthday Party before the big Game!!!

This family time was dedicated to my daughter. I'll put a picture of her in too. I'm sure there's one on the other side, she was probably on the computer :)! We had a birthday dinner for her on January 16th to coincide with a hockey weekend for her and her friend Teri and her dog Spunky who were down from Duluth. Her birhtday was really January 30th. She didn't mind. We had a wonderful time. We always do!!

She will soon be down again for the March Final Tournament for WHAM (Women's Hockey Association of Minnesota). If you have never seen good women's hockey you are missing out. It get's a big rough at times, but is basically a skating, not checking game and you see a lot of beautiful skating a stick handling out there with the puck really sailing across the ice. Poetry in motion, truly. Don't miss it if you ever get to see a good league of women's hockey. Especially with my daughter Abby in goal!

Blogs, the Lord and my Faith

Writing in blogs are a wonderful way to bring Glory to God in your life! You can express your self and the things happening to you with freedom and give credit where credit is due. For the past six months I have been suffering with terrible stomach pain and my friends and family have been praying for the doctors to diagnose it and for me to be healed one way or another. The doctors finally figured it out, but it required such a tricky surgery they delayed it while I kept a pain log. No one wanted to operate!

Well I have kept my log and my condition has improved. No one has expected this. I see my doctor and my surgeon this week and am eager and to see that they have to say. I have faith that God could easily finish the good work he has started. I am waiting to see what they will say.

"They that wait upon the Lord will renew their faith they will rise up like wings like the eagles! They will run and not be weary, they will walk and not faint -- teach me Lord, teach me Lord to wait."
